How I Was Inspired
On April 28th, 2007, my phone was ringing like crazy. Everyone asked the same question, "Did you hear about the two boys, from our high school, who died in that terrible car accident last night?" I didn't know the boys or their families, but when my daughter, a new driver who attends the same high school, called me crying, my heart really started to break. She told me that kids were not attending classes because they were either leaving school or walking through the halls crying.
When the details were revealed, it was reported that the teen driver was on a highway in a 55mph zone, traveling at over 100mph while weaving between cars. The pictures from the sight were horrific. The car was unrecognizable and there were body parts everywhere. It was one of the worst accidents ever, on our highways.
If someone could have stopped this teen driver, this terrible tragedy could have been avoided. If someone had informed his parents that he was a reckless driver, they may have taken away his driving privileges or disciplined him in their own way.
Sadly, two families had to bury their sons in April instead of attending their high school graduation in June. Unfortunately, they will have to live with this horror forever.
This tragedy is what prompted me to create WeSee4U. It's a way for people to look out for each other. It's also a way to keep our roads safer. So, LET’S SAVE LIVES TOGETHER.
